Two pairs of some of the most iconic jeans in history are lost in the home of their owner, Brooke Shields.
Jenna Bush Hager is ready to help in the search for the legendary Calvin Kleins, but she had one request for the model, actor and entrepreneur during Shields' Dec. 11 appearance as a guest co-host on Jenna ⁘ Friends.
As Jenna reminisced about previously working the Met Gala, she figured finding Shields' jeans could be her ticket back to one of the most prestigious events in the fashion world.
Shields, 60, was first invited to the Met Gala in 1983, just three years after she starred in one of the most famous ad campaigns of all time.
She was a 15-year-old model in 1980 when she posed in Calvin Klein jeans and uttered the line, "You want to know what comes in between me and my Calvins? Nothing."
The commercial was banned by some TV networks after causing an uproar by critics who labeled it sexually suggestive. The jeans worn by Shields in the ad campaign became so famous that one pair was put on display at the Met Gala.
"They pose the mannequin in the model pose that I was in, and the hair was all matted and weird," Shields said. "It was very odd to walk through and see, like, me. But it was an honor."
"I have two pairs, that I believe (are) in my possession," Shields said. "I've had them on one hook for about, oh, I don't know, nine years, and went to the hook yesterday and can't find them. They'll show up. My house is like a black hole, so they will show up."
