An owner got emotional after spotting her senior dog finally turning a corner and accepting the family's new puppy.

This behavior isn't uncommon. Bringing home a new puppy is a big change that sometimes will stress out older dogs . Because puppies are loud, active and require lots of attention, it can overwhelm other dogs in the house. Puppies also need time to learn how to respect space and behave appropriately, sometimes testing the boundaries of an older dog.

"The most she wanted to play with us was just laying on her back and batting her paws at us or trying to chase my kids a few steps outside," she said. "She hasn't been playful with another dog in quite some time."

The moment immediately made Braswell tear up. It might have only been for a moment, but it was a step in the right direction.
