Wearing a gorgeous custom coat from Alexander McQueen, Kate's designer of choice in recent months, it would be easy not to look past her chic head-to-toe forest green outfit. However, if you glance at her ears, you'll spot she wore a unique pair of earrings. We say unique because the jewellery Kate chose to wear for the occasion featured green amethysts – much less common than purple amethysts.
But it's not just the colour of the quartz, rather what the stone signifies. Green amethyst, also known as prasiolite, is said to symbolise compassion, abundance, self-reliance and prosperity. Perhaps more specifically relevant to the Princess of Wales on her current path back to full health, it's also associated with growth, health, happiness and harmony.
This beautiful pair of earrings feature pear drop green amethyst set in 18ct yellow gold, and certainly add a touch of elegance to any outfit, as Kate proved perfectly.
If you don't have the budget for a pair of Kiki earrings, Mounir London's Carved Green Amethyst Earrings for £66 are a very pretty alternative.
