Gigi Hadid And EmRata Pay Tribute To Donatella Versace

Think of iconic Italian fashion houses – Gucci, Prada, Dolce ⁘ Gabbana – and the list is not complete without Versace. But, after 27 years at the helm, Donatella Versace announced just last week she would be stepping down as the brand's creative director. While the 69-year-old designer will continue on as chief brand ambassador, former Miu Miu design director Dario Vitale will be taking over as chief creative officer. His appointment marking a break in tradition after 47 years of the label kept in the family.

Yep, it is Donatella's ability to turn the catwalk into a true spectacle alongside breathtaking red carpet looks that make Versace what it is. So it's no wonder so many celebrities have been taking to Instagram to pay tribute to the designer with posts honouring her legacy. From campaign images and runway cameos to behind-the-scenes snaps, candid moments and *so* many naked dresses, keep scrolling to see all the A-list acknowledgements from Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowksi, Rita Ora and more.

Opening a tribute post with a thong-exposing backless dress is the perfect summary of Donatella's legacy: unapologetically bold and glamorous fashion. With images mainly linked to her collaboration collection with the fashion house, Dua kept her caption short and sweet, writing simply, "Noone does it like you @donatella_versace 💗!!!!!"

The supermodel took the opportunity to highlight all her Versace experiences with official campaign clips and images alongside runway photos and plenty of shots of Donatella and Bella candidly smiling and embracing.

JLo trawled the archives for photos of herself with Donatella, illustrating their decades-long friendship. Her carousel post was accompanied by an emotional caption.

Crediting Donatella with her first big runway appearance, Gigi Hadid took the opportunity to highlight her 10-year career with Versace through campaigns, fashion shows and red carpet appearances. As well as thanking the designer, Gigi signed off her post, "4ever your girl." We're not crying, you are!
