Cindy Crawford has lost the modelling contract which made her name. Revlon announced that the supermodel had been dropped because her image was too boring.
After 11 years as the face of the cosmetics giant, Miss Crawford, 34, has been told her services are no longer required. She will be phased out of Revlon's advertising over the next year.
A company spokesman said it wanted to be seen as an 'exciting' firm and needed a new face to promote that image. She denied suggestions that as a 34-year-old mother, Miss Crawford had become too old to sell cosmetics.
The spokesman said: 'I cannot comment on the name. But it will be someone like that who is quite famous in her own right already and who brings a lot to us.
Her Revlon contract has been her biggest commitment for more than a decade and has seen her face displayed at beauty counters across the world.
